Legal · Acceptable Use Policy
What we will not let you do here.
Sits alongside the Terms. Breach is grounds for content removal, account suspension, account termination and — where appropriate — referral to law enforcement or civil action.
Honest use
You must use Droploud honestly. You may not:
- 01.Manipulate metrics. Use bots, scripts, click farms, multiple fake accounts, paid download services or any coordinated scheme to inflate download counts, chart positions, play counts, points balances, follower counts or engagement signals.
- 02.Self-download. Repeatedly complete your own gates or buy your own Shop items from secondary accounts to inflate metrics or harvest fan data.
- 03.Misrepresent authorship. Claim authorship of music, samples or templates you did not create or do not have the right to upload.
- 04.Pose as someone else. Impersonate another artist, label, brand, Droploud staff or any third party.
- 05.Use someone else's account. Sign in to someone else's Droploud, SoundCloud, PayPal or Stripe account without authorisation.
Content rules
You may not upload, list, post, link to or transmit through Droploud any content that:
- 01.Infringes IP rights. Uncleared samples, uncleared vocal recordings, stems of commercial releases, label-owned masters, copyrighted artwork, copyrighted typefaces.
- 02.Is illegal. Promotes terrorism, sexual exploitation of minors, human trafficking, illegal drug sales, illegal firearms, fraud or any other illegal activity in either the UAE or the user's country of residence.
- 03.Is hateful or harassing. Promotes violence against, threatens, discriminates against or harasses any person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, age or any protected characteristic.
- 04.Is defamatory. Makes false statements of fact about an identifiable person or organisation.
- 05.Violates privacy. Doxes individuals, publishes private communications, exposes private personal data of identifiable persons.
- 06.Contains malware. Viruses, Trojans, worms, ransomware, keyloggers, exploits, or any other malicious payload — including audio steganography carrying executable code.
- 07.Is NSFW in a way the catalogue is not designed for. Droploud is an electronic-music platform — not an adult-content platform. Artistic nudity in artwork is acceptable; pornographic material is not.
- 08.Misuses brands. Uses Droploud, SoundCloud, Spotify or any third-party logo / name in a way that suggests an endorsement or partnership that does not exist.
Anti-spam & fan-data rules
- 01.Spam. Do not send unsolicited promotional email, DMs, comments, replies or messages on or through the platform.
- 02.Sell fan data. Do not sell, lease, rent, gift or otherwise transfer fan email addresses, social handles or any fan-completion data to any unrelated third party.
- 03.Train ML on fan data without consent. Do not use fan emails, fan handles or any fan-completion data to train, fine-tune or evaluate any machine-learning model without each affected fan's prior explicit consent.
- 04.Ignore unsubscribes. Do not continue contacting a fan who has unsubscribed, requested erasure or otherwise withdrawn consent.
- 05.Misuse social handles. Do not send unsolicited DMs to social handles collected via a gate.
Platform-integrity rules
- 01.Bypass gates. Tamper with DOM elements, replay download URLs, scrape audio outside the gate flow or otherwise circumvent gate controls.
- 02.Bypass rate limits or paywalls.
- 03.Abuse OAuth. Use a SoundCloud OAuth token issued for one fan to perform actions on behalf of another, or use SoundCloud OAuth tokens collected through Droploud to perform actions outside the Droploud-authorised gate flow.
- 04.Probe / attack. Probe, scan, penetration-test or attempt to exploit any part of the Service without written permission from Droploud (see §7 for responsible disclosure).
- 05.Scrape. Use bots, spiders, crawlers, scrapers or other automated means to access content outside what Droploud's public API explicitly allows.
- 06.Reverse engineer the platform's protected components, copy the Service into a competing product, or use the Service to develop a competing service.
- 07.Overload. Send requests at a volume that materially degrades the Service for other users.
- 08.Bypass geofencing. Attempt to evade IP-based region restrictions Droploud applies for legal compliance.
Points-economy rules
- 01.Don't sell Points off-platform. Points are platform credit, not transferable property.
- 02.Don't buy Points from a third party. Points may only be purchased directly from Droploud via Stripe, or earned through bona-fide platform activity.
- 03.Don't mass-create accounts to harvest welcome Points or completion Points.
- 04.Don't game earn rates by completing gates you do not actually want.
Shop-specific rules
In addition to the Shop EULA & Refund Policy (which is the binding licence):
- 01.No reselling raw files. You may not redistribute, repackage, bundle or resell the raw audio / MIDI / preset files from any Product you bought.
- 02.No ML training on raw files. You may not train, fine-tune or evaluate any machine-learning model on the raw audio / MIDI / preset files of a Product.
- 03.No NFT minting. You may not mint NFTs whose primary asset is a raw Product file.
- 04.No chargeback fraud. Filing a chargeback after fully consuming a Product without first contacting Droploud Support is bad-faith conduct.
Security & responsible disclosure
If you find a security vulnerability:
- Do not publish it or exploit it.
- Email security@droploud.com with details, repro steps and the impact you observed.
- Allow Droploud reasonable time to fix the issue (typically 90 days) before any public disclosure.
Droploud will not pursue legal action against good-faith security researchers who comply with this section. Bounty terms (if any) are agreed case-by-case.
Enforcement
Breach of this Policy may result in:
- content removal (soft-delete);
- temporary suspension of upload, sales or download privileges;
- account termination (immediate where the breach is severe);
- forfeiture of unspent Points;
- withholding of pending Shop payouts tied to disputed content;
- referral to law enforcement;
- civil action by Droploud and/or by any affected third party.
Droploud chooses the response proportionate to the severity. Repeat breaches escalate quickly. Where a breach is also a copyright matter, the DMCA Policy §5 three-strike process applies in addition.
