Hard Techno does not hide its intent: maximum pressure, minimal decoration. The kicks are distorted at the source, pitched-down 909 patterns saturated until they clip. The basslines are monosynth square waves pushed through overdrive. Breakdowns exist for one reason, which is to make the drop hit harder. This came out of the warehouse rave circuit, not curated club culture.
