About Future Bass.
Future Bass is electronic music that goes straight for the feelings. Pitched vocal chops, atmospheric pads, thick chord stacks, and chorus engineering borrowed from pop and applied to electronic production. It came up through the US festival circuit around 2015 and has since grown a parallel underground lane focused on the atmospheric, textural end.

The tempo usually runs 140–160 BPM. The drop is a heavily sidechained, chopped bass texture, not the distorted lead you would get in dubstep or bass house.

Flume, Cashmere Cat, and Rustie set the early aesthetic. San Holo and Slushii built more accessible versions. Jai Wolf took it in a more melodic, emotional direction.
